When the Saison was young, all beers would have had some smoke character to them as the only way for farmhouses to dry malt would be over open flames. Hanabi (“Fireworks”) is a smoked saison which incorporates this history into its profile, blending the subtly fruity, woody character of smoked malt with a spicy, pear, and banana yeast character. Dry and effervescent, yet with a surprising amount of body, it quenches thirst as it would have for the farmhands who gave the style its name
