La Choulette Ambrée is the classic amber version of a French biere de garde. It has the characteristic dense head found on bieres de garde and a wonderfully spicy aroma with notes of dried fruit. Full-flavored yet also effervescent and refreshing, the flavor is nutty and caramel-like but with a dry, lingering finish that is gently hoppy. Eric Asimov of The New York Times described this beer “as complex as a good Burgundy”.
